Dr. Abdulhakeem Adebayo Yusuf is a Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, University of Ilorin. He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Mycology from Bayero University Kano, an M.Sc. in Applied Parasitology from Adamawa State University, and professional qualifications in Medical Parasitology and Medical Microbiology. He has also undertaken international fellowship training in Medical Mycology at universities in Iran.

His research interests centre on medical mycology, fungal infections, antifungal resistance, molecular mycology, medical parasitology, malaria, infectious diseases, epidemiology and laboratory diagnosis. His doctoral research and subsequent scholarly activities have particularly strengthened his expertise in fungal diseases and the application of conventional and molecular approaches to the diagnosis and epidemiology of medically important fungi. He participated in numerous professional and research training programmes.
