Mutiat Aina Kareem is a lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, specializing in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science with seven years of university teaching, research, and administrative experience. She is currently pursuing a PhD while serving as a Fellowship Residency trainee at the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science (WAPCMLS).

An Associate Fellow of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN), her research interests cover areas including serological and molecular compatibility testing, assessment of serum iron in blood donors, and analyzing coagulation factor activities and platelet indices. She has to her credit about twelve publications in reputable outlets, covering journals and conference proceedings. She is a recipient of awards and travel grants.

She is also engaged in research regarding medical laboratory science education, curriculum, and professional development. She actively contributes to medical research through academic publications and conference presentations.
